Here is Greg enjoying his second day at the spa, to quote the man himself. The x-ray this morning showed some air still in the chest cavity. They hooked the tubes up to suction most of today and will take another x-ray tomorrow. The doctor seems to be planning on sending him home in the morning, pending Greg’s pain medication needs.
You can see that he got up and around some. Not much. However, he and Jesse corroborate each other’s stories that Greg even walked up and down about eight stair steps once. He says the trick is to hold his torso absolutely still.
For my part, I spent the day going back and forth to the hospital, taking meals to Greg, checking on kids, even investigating alternative routes via the MRT. It took about 35 minutes, compared to the taxi ride of 5-10 minutes and involved walking about 25 minutes of that time. With the carrying of items and traveling later at night, I decided to go back to the taxi for now. But I have added new links to my “internal GPS” system in the process!
I still have to take a taxi to go pick up Greg’s bike from the police station. That is on the agenda for tomorrow after I get him home. I know. I know. Some of you are chanting “leave it there.”

You know, I was just realizing how amazingly this corresponded to Dad’s vacation time … I guess Micron has a fortune-teller somewhere, who nearly got spot-on the time he wouldn’t actually be able to work anyway … so sorry that he has to spend his days off recovering now, though!!
I say bring his bike back, if nothing else you can give it to me. Wait, my track record isn’t exactly good, either … within about 8 months of getting my bike: crash, sprained hand, hit by car, sprained knee, stitches, edemas, crash, some scrapes.
On the other hand, maybe that last crash shows that I’m getting better at avoiding the painful parts of crashing. Just not the ignominy. (I did see the sidewalk, honest! It *grabbed* my tire!)

I’m beginning to add up “bike crashes/accidents” in the Blodgett family… Not very reassuring. 🙂 I’m sure Greg will put his engineering mind to work at learning how to walk w/out too much pain. If anyone can do it, he can! At least there is an elevator at the apt. In the meantime, put locks on all bikes. 😀
We love you!
