We are not having a white Christmas, but who’s complaining? We took a walk down along the river Christmas Eve. Most of the kids did some skating. We enjoyed many flowers. I was only approached by one stray dog, and she was non-threatening. Just a momma dog hopeful for a meal.
These first couple of photos are along the walkway to the river:
Here is the skating rink. Apparently the activity is no longer that popular.
The building above Carlie (left) is an elementary school. There is actually a road at the same level as the river bed behind the cement flood control walls, so the photo is only showing about the second floor and higher of the school.
Greg stood just in front of the interesting arch in the photo above to take the picture of the sitting area in the photo below. The skating rink is just a few feet off to the right of the photo, as you are looking at it. This is by far the lowest we have seen the water level in the river.
Here are the park regulations:
And a few of the beautiful flowers –
Other activity options:
We weren’t the only people enjoying the river; the birds looked relaxed, too….
A white Christmas has its appeal, however, I think we are enjoying ourselves sufficiently. We can always make a snowman out of sticky rice if we need to. Merry Christmas to everyone!
