Helpless Female Against the Tick

August 10, 2013 by Laura Blodgett Leave a Comment

My life is like a movie. At least for me, anyway. It is full of excitement and unpredictability. There is occasionally blood. I get lost a lot and my husband has to frequently save me … from … myself. So, it is mostly a love story.

However, there is sometimes a horror episode. That is how I categorize ticks. Who can see them and not shudder from the depths of their being?

I recently found it necessary to remove a tick from my dog. I would rather… no, let’s no go there. Each moment of horror is sufficient to itself.

I decided the experience might be useful for others to read about, or maybe I wanted to share my agony. So, I researched information about ticks and wrote for D&B Supply. I am still recovering from the visual affects. And the sound of …. no, no, no…. trying to forget.

But it is tick season and you may want to review the basics about ticks and how to get rid of them. Maybe if I think of it as a survival episode? But, I’m not terribly fond of those either. I know. Just call me The Exterminator. No plans for a sequel at present.

What the spot looked like right after the tick was removed from the dog's neck.
