We experimented with a lot of colors painting our temporary home, so I thought I had things figured out. In fact, those experiments were very useful in choosing some fun, but calm colors for various rooms in the dream house.
We really liked some tan combinations for the theater room and Greg’s office. (They are not done with edges and touch up yet.)
My work spaces are a lovely shade of peach and light green.
We are very happy with our white, which, in our opinion, is bright without being glaring and warm without being yellowish. This is the color for the more open spaces in the upstairs kitchen-dining-music areas, as well as in hallways, the guest room, and for all trim.
Even the lavender in the upstairs powder room is more reserved than wild. (The lighting was wrong for getting a photo). And the jungle bathroom green is just the thing.
The wall of dark brown in the master bedroom was not painted yet, but we experimented with a dark brown in this temporary bedroom, so I have high hopes for that.
It is the master bathroom that may keep us in giggles for quite a while. We chose what we thought was a slightly deeper blue. And it is the only room where I chose to have the ceiling painted the same as the walls. The effect is shocking! I may not need a night light!
The tile for the master bathroom is mostly a medium sandy brown, so that should tone it down some. I remember the counter tops as being a light neutral and the cabinets are a honey dark wood stain.. so, here’s hoping we did that right!
