Cori Lou Where Are You in the NICU Days 9 – 10

October 5, 2013 by Laura Blodgett 2 Comments

Cori Lou has:

  • had the gastric suction tube that was going in through her mouth removed (even though it is in the first parts of the video). The tube going through her nose does NOT have suction and is just there for back up until the doctors see that feedings are progressing safely. She does keep trying to pull it out.
  • initial Pedialyte feedings in her near future. She will move right on to colostrum if that goes well.
  • been moved to a “regular” NICU crib, which basically means she is maintaining her own temperature, so doesn’t need the constant incubation. This is also a function of the fact that they feel her incision is healed well enough for her to be able to wear clothes and have receiving blankets swaddling her.
  • been held by a few more people and is overall spending significantly more time now in people’s arms.
