There are three more Saturdays to shop at the Nampa Farmer’s Market this year. If you want to
- buy fresh vegetables that you know are grown locally, or
- find fun gifts for the coming holidays, it is a good place to look. There are also vendors selling
- high quality meats and poultry,
- bottles of special sauces and condiments, and
- pastries filled with Bavarian creme.
The Nampa Farmer’s Market is not so big as to be overwhelming, but large enough to be a pleasant excursion on Saturday morning.
I will give you a bit of a photo tour of the Market as it was when I visited almost two weeks ago. One of the first booths is full of puppets. I have been looking forward to being able to buy one of these for my grandkids.
My mom likes to buy these mustards –
I have purchased meat from Malheur River Meats a few times and always found it tasted very good.
They have many kinds of meat, poultry, and eggs.
Wild Stallion Leather also accepts custom orders.
There are several pieces of this pottery in my house, including a gorgeous platter and a liquid soap dispenser. I like to give it as gifts, too.
This soap is lovely for my ultra sensitive skin. I have used it for a few years now. I do stay away from flower fragrances, but she has fruity, coffee, and other “flavors” that work well for me.
There are also some creative glass pendants and pens at this booth.
Even though I’ve already had breakfast, I always have at least half of one of the pastries sold here. Soooo good!
You will be faced with other choices, too, such as pretty and practical shopping bags. And fun Christmas scenes carved out of gourds.
If you are still there around lunch time, there are hot dogs –
And continue to explore booths with wooden boxes, rope baskets, and hand dyed yarns.
And you still haven’t seen the bottle cap magnets, beaded jewelry, or other veggies:
[hr]This is John, who I met at the pool in the Rec Center. He learned to swim when he was 75, more than 10 years ago. I see him swimming his laps a lot. He sells plants and produce at the Farmer’s Market.
So you get the idea! It’s a great place to meet your neighbors and shop in the open air. The mild fall weather is very conducive to enjoying the Nampa Farmer’s Market and getting your weekend off to a good start.
